Take a look at this Buenos Aires kitchen. Looks natural, rather pretty, right? Long rough table, lots of natural light? Well, take a look at it now, after a colorful makeover.
Blue! And not just blue, but magnetic blue. The whole wall was painted in magnetic paint, and while initially the apartment's occupants planned to hang photography there, it has turned into a wall of funky magnets. They say that they've got Che Guevara, Evita, and Michael Jackson with various changes of clothing.
As you can probably tell, John and Angela, the renters of this Buenos Aires apartment, have a quirky style and an eclectic approach to their kitchen decoration. We love the look of this — it brightens up what was actually a rather dingy kitchen, in need of work, and makes it extra-fun to cook in.

Definitely nice, but the biggest improvement between the first shot and the second is the photographic exposure. The first shot is a mess of blown highlights and muddy shadows which made the space look a lot worse than it actually was.
Not to say that the wall treatment isn't nice, just that a good photo goes a long way towards making a nice space seem nicer.
I love the long table, the curved windows and the unique architecture. . .and even though I can see a little room for improvement from the first picture, I really don't care for the garish blue or the swarm of tiny magnets in a big space.
But as always, "to each their own." As long as it's a more fun place to gather and cook for the family...I guess its all good.
I liked the "before" much better. That color scheme would give me a migraine. I like the space, though.
I loooove the blue wall. I hadn't really noticed the green floor in the first picture but it seems that painting the wall blue accentuates the floor color (and perhaps better lighting).
