When Christina, of the blog Christina's Adventures, wrote in to us about her kitchen remodel in a 1902 Victorian home, she called the before kitchen a "pit of despair." While it might not be quite that desperate, we do agree it was in need of a serious makeover.
Fortunately, Christina and her husband are old pros at kitchen remodels after completing their first remodel in 2014. Take a look at how the kitchen looks now.
No one could possibly call this bright kitchen a pit of despair now! Christina was keen to create a modern farmhouse kitchen, and we have to say she completely succeeded. Let's take a look at the details of the kitchen.
One of our favorite things about the remodel is the copper farmhouse sink. Copper is a detail that Christina has included in both of her remodels, and we love this bold, functional sink.
In order to keep with the farmhouse vibe, Christina was careful to choose vintage-style contemporary appliances for the fridge and dishwasher. These pieces come from the GE Artistry collection, and fit perfectly in the space.
You can see the details and cost breakdown of all the supplies and appliances on Christina's blog:

In addition to the kitchen itself, Christina and her husband also updated the adjacent dining area to fit in with the farmhouse aesthetic. Take a look at the dining area now.
Such an improvement! Christina had trouble sourcing a vintage pew for the dining table, but eventually she was able to find one on Craigslist. She then made a few repairs, painted, and distressed it for the perfect farmhouse look.
