Although most prefer their alcoholic beverages chilled but not frozen, we're making an immediate exception for these beer push-up pops.
That's right, It's beer on a stick and honestly, it doesn't appear to get any better than that when it's 115 degrees outside! So where can you get one? What's been added in? Details — we need details!
Well, right this way...
The folks at The Diablo Royale Este saloon in New York are busy injecting cans of Tecate with simple syrup and lime juice and putting them in the freezer (not before jamming a stick through it of course) for four days. We're pretty sure there's a fine line between exploded beer in your freezer and delicious summer snack so we'll have to do some "research" for you. It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it!
We'll have our home kitchen "test results" for you tomorrow. We're sure there's lots of little tips and tricks to make these without making a big foamy mess! Have you ever had a beer popsicle of this nature before? Let us know below!

I tried to enjoy one of these treats at Diablo except that the bartender was such a gigantic ass that I decided I'd rather not give him any of my money. Though the extra coldness of a frozen beer would have been nice in there since they don't use air conditioning in the middle of summer.
I would probably slice my lip open on that scary jagged edge.......!! yikes!!
how about popping the top, pouring a little out, adding simple syrup and lime, and sticking a popsicle stick in? That way it's not a sealed can to blow!
how awesome.. can't wait to hear more!!!!!
We used to do this all the time when I was a teenager living in Montana, except that we called this "left the beer in the car in the middle of winter" and ate it with spoons.
Hmm... I thought frozen beer loses its flavor?? especially if it has a lot of hops (which I am sure Tecate doesn't). I know I've been told by a beer fanatic friend of mine that you should never allow beer to freeze?? Seems like a bad idea to me but perhaps its only relevant to beers with hops.
This whole thing looks dangerous to me, between the potential for exploding cans to slicing them open to eating them with those raw can edges. Screw it and just give me a margarita or pina colada instead. Or even just a Slurpee.
That looks like the opposite of refreshing, actually. Alcohol always makes me feel even warmer, which is not what I want when the heat index is in the triple digits.
I can't wait!!!!!! Finally a reason to leave beer in the freezer! Can't tell you how many times I forgot about the beer and it exploded.
Yeah I would slice my face directly off. :(
I love an ice cold beer. But a beer push-up sounds really disgusting.
Mm, looks great!
