Beer pong has always been a germy affair: You throw the ping pong ball, and if it doesn’t make it into the cup, it ends up rolling around on some basement or garage floor.

Then, when the ball does make it into the cup, it brings dirt, dust, and — if you’re lucky — pet hair along with it. Yum.

But five guys from Connecticut have banded together to create a product that promises to bring a little hygiene to your Beer Pong experience. The Slip Cup is an insert that acts like a shield between your precious beer and the ball.

It took over eight months and 50 different prototypes to come up with the current version of the Slip Cup, but it was well worth it. Now you’ll be able to happily sip your beer without inspecting it for stray hairs or dust bunnies first.
