Last week while visiting the Central Coast of California, we came across this avocado farm on the north side of Highway 41, just outside of Morro Bay.
It turned out to have a very large grove with several varieties of avocadoes, and visitors can tour the grove with the farmers and learn about how avocadoes are grown, and how they are harvested. The small country store on the property was stocked with various types of avocadoes (Hass and Bacon, to name a few,) avocado oil for cooking, and avocado cream for your skin.

You know, I find posts that focus on Morro Bay to be absolutely surreal. I used to live there (well, near there anyway) and it seemed for years that no one had a clue where it was!
I have family that lives there and Los Osos - it is such a cool little beach town!
They also have the best guacamole seasoning!
(It is so exciting to see my neck of the woods mentioned here!)
Central Coast avocados are so wonderful! After leaving CA for NC, it's one of the things we miss most. Although a rarity, I have a suitcase full of them coming home to me tomorrow.
