Dessert will forever be my favorite course of any meal. But as a reformed picky eater who didn't eat much fruit growing up, fruit-based desserts were never my favorite. However, the debut cookbook from Yossy Arefi, the blogger behind Apt. 2B Baking Co., may have me embracing this sweet category.
Arefi's focus is on fruity treats for every season. From rhubarb and rose galettes in the spring to persimmon sorbet with ginger and vanilla in the fall, this book has a range of dessert styles and flavor combinations.
And because fruit is so prominently featured, many of the recipes are low in sugar, relying on the fruits' natural sweetness instead.
