Greg just wrote to us to share his kitchen remodel, and we were totally and completely smitten. Yes, this remodel of his 83-year-old Los Angeles home took 905 days (give or take), which is a long time to be washing dishes in the bathtub. But when you see these photos we think you'll agree that it was worth it.
Greg says that he remodeled his kitchen to be much larger and more open. His architect knocked out walls to combine the original kitchen, a laundry room and an office into a large kitchen and eating area. This involved a lot of "unforeseen" issues, moving load-bearing walls and such. (Anyone who has done a full-on remodel can relate!) So the remodel stretched out for a long, long time.
But it's finally done, and it's gorgeous. We absolutely love the major splurge in the kitchen: the separate fridge and freezer. We also love the color of the cabinets and the unusual shape of the ceiling. So beautiful, and filled with that unique Los Angeles light. The kitchen also now provides a much easier way through to the lovely private garden behind the house.
You really must go see more photos of this kitchen and read all about the process, over at the blog Greg writes with his brother Grant, SippitySup.
