In my experience, there are two basic categories of frozen veggie burgers -- the ones that are intended to mimic meat, and the ones that are more like vegetable patties. I personally prefer the latter, and my fave is Dr. Praeger's. They make a California burger and a Tex-Mex burger, but honestly they both taste exactly the same to me.

Yves makes a very good veggie burger that is made to mimic meat. It has a good chew and a heavy black peppery taste. Expensive at about $3 for a pack of 2. McDonald's used to get their veggie burgers from them.... Alas
As for the other category I like the original Garden Burger. The black bean one from Morningstar comes at a close second.
Boca Burger American Grillers has always been my favorite. Morningstar is OK at best; haven't liked any other brand I've tried.
I like the veggie burgers that are veggie patties. The soy ones that look like a burger always have an off flavor. Boca is just gross to me.
But Yves makes yummy breakfast veggie sausages that mimic real meat ones. Maybe it's all in the seasoning but those rock.
If you live in the Philadelphia area, you must go to the Reading Terminal in Center City and visit The Basic Four. They have THE BEST veggie burgers EVER! Every now and again I'll buy a few patties to take home, at $1.50 per pattie. Delicious.
