A couple months ago, something fun happened at my house: Two professional florists showed up and set my table with armfuls of flowers and expensive glassware. It was a shoot for a local magazine, and I made a summery, grill-centric meal of steak with zucchini relish, grilled melon with prosciutto rosettes, and more. I wanted to give you a peek, since the recipes are just right for a glammed-up Memorial Day party.
I have to admit that it was pretty fun to have someone else taking the photos of food in my house, for a change. And my table was dressed up beyond recognition! I usually opt for lower-key style, but it was a treat to see things so dressed up for a change.
And the menu is just right for this weekend. There's grilled steak, sliced and served with a quick, tangy relish of zucchini and tomatoes. There are grilled skewers of prosciutto and melon, fruity sangria, a light and creamy potato salad, and a super-easy dessert of baked puff pastry squares with strawberries and sour cream.
