Bacsac Bacsquare 04...

what a coincidence; just in time for our blog's birthday and red velvet birthday cake!

Hand to god, I thought that first cake was an upside-down bacon cake. I didn't know if I should salivate or be horrified, so I did a little of both.
That first cake is really pretty!
@onebravegirl I know some people who would think I was a goddess for making an upside-down bacon cake. I'm going to have to think on this one a bit! Thanks for the idea!!
I would always request my mother's Tres Leches cake for my June birthday. It's the type of cake you eat with a spoon, and the fresh fruits on top make it "light" and refreshing.
It's even better the next day for breakfast. Cake in the morning!
Nah - layer cake all the way!
Nothing say's Summer Birthday "Cake" better than Icecream Cone "Cupcakes"-
How to? Pour the batter directly into icecream cones (with a flat bottom of course) and bake in the oven as normal.
Top with a delicious icing (something icecreamy flavour preferred)
Add all the sprinkles & toppings your heart desires.
Just Google search "Ice cream cone cupcakes" for plenty of examples!
Cheers,
Chanele

Very pretty! I made a coconut milk cake decorated with limes that's also very summer-y: http://gabrielaskitchen.com/2009/07/22/postres-pastel-de-leche-de-coco/
For my mom's birthday, I went with a simple, sweet ricotta tart with blueberry compote. Great for summer birthdays!
