If you asked me yesterday if I'd pick a copper sink to go with Carrara marble countertops, I would have said, eh, probably not. Classic stainless steel meshes better with the gray tones in the marble, no?
But now that I've seen this photo, I take it back. I take it all back. Copper + Carrara marble + dark blue-black cabinets = perfection.
A peek of the copper sink that comes through when you open the cabinet door.
This two-tone kitchen, which sits on the ground level of a west London terraced house and belongs to British chef Skye Gyngell, was recently featured in all its loveliness on Remodelista.
As they write, while copper does have antimicrobial properties, that's not the main reason Gyngell chose a copper sink for her kitchen; she just liked the way it looked with her Carrara marble countertops and dark blue-black cabinets (which are painted in Farrow & Ball's "Hague Blue").
I couldn't agree more. What a stunning combination, especially when you get a glimpse of that gleaming copper sink every time you open the cabinet door!
