A Small Schoolhouse Kitchen

Country Living

When we first spotted this schoolhouse transformed into home, we were taken with the bedroom up in the attic. We're not sure how we completely overlooked this cozy kitchen until now:

We love its lofted ceiling clad in wood and painted green. With black base cabinets and no uppers, the room is small but simple and open - letting it feel larger. The lime-y green and yellow accents against the more muted green ceiling is an unexpected but really attractive combination.

Any storage lost with no upper cabinets is picked up in stand-alone furniture like the buffet and hutch shown in the image above.
