I have a few tools in my kitchen that I seem to take for granted. Most of them have been around for ages, quietly doing their jobs without breaking down or wearing out. One of those is my small Peugeot pepper grinder. It's an unobtrusive fellow, with a dark wood finish and easily adjustable grind. I can't even remember when I bought it — years and years ago — and it's still going strong.
So trust me when I say, if I actually needed a new pepper grinder (which I don't, obviously) I would go with Peugeot, and this new line of sleek lacquered grinders is very tempting.
These mills are from a new line called Cottage, and I love the glossy look — a subtle update in both form and color on a classic shape. The pepper mills come in dark gray and purple, and the salt mill in ivory and pale pink (!!).
A very pretty set — and if they are as well-built as my other grinder from Peugeot, a good investment too. Now if only my old grinder would break ... but I don't think that's happening any time soon!
