This is the kind of kitchen that storybook cooking dreams are made of. Can you imagine waking up on a sunny spring or cool fall morning and beginning your day here with a cup of tea? I sure could enjoy the modern conveniences of a dishwasher and automatic ice maker set against the uneven walls and textured ceilings of this unique, dreamy space.

Now I'm not promoting all the défor and fixture choices made throughout this space—many are too contemporary and edgy for my taste—but I am loving how the space has been brought into modern times yet still feels like we're peeking into a stone home of a fairytale character.

Red-and-Pink-Stripe...

I love the kitchen itself, but not sure if that's the best place for the sink. Seems like you'd at least want a small sink on the other side, near the cook top??
Wow, what a great space! And look at those expanses of counter... I'm jealous.
However, I agree with Danid04 that the sink seems awkwardly spaced. Also, the light fixtures and those dining chairs are NOT doing it for me. They look awkward, and dated already.
But if you go to the blog and look at the other photos of the house, it's so gorgeous that it more than makes up for it!
I was picturing myself dashing around from the range top to the sink and back again and banging my hip on the corner. This definitely strikes me as a space outfitted by a non-cook. And maybe a non-sitter-in-chairs by the look of it.
There is no hood over the stove? Do these people plan to cook?
I notice in a lot of beautiful kitchens, the people don't really cook. Are they afraid of messing up the kitchen, or do they just not cook?
The arches make the space a little claustrophobic for me.
The sink issue; the counter space adds more prep area where you need it most. But I work in professional kitchens and have to take the dishes to the back anyway and just have a prep sink.
this isn't real, is it? it's the flinstones' kitchen!
