'Tis the season to draw up wishlists for Santa, and maybe if we're very, very good, he'll drop us right down in this dream kitchen located in the South of France.
This kitchen is in an old mill house in Nimes, near the border of Provence and Languedoc. It is owned by an interior designer, Marie-Laure Helmkampf, and these photos are part of a feature from a Spanish magazine, Nuevo Estilo. The feature points out the island, which was formerly an old reception desk at a workshop in Marseille.
The mix of materials in this kitchen is so masterful: The oak finishes, the smooth white countertops, the stone back wall. It feels light, bright, sleek and rustic all at the same time, worn and weathered, yet comfortably modern.

TW Salt Mill by Wil...

I love the natural blue-grays that are happening in the stone and such that compliment the oranger tone of the wood. My cabinets are the same color (however not nearly so nice), I wonder if I can find a way to add in some of the blue-grays to compliment it. (My whole kitchen is shades of beige. The counter, the backsplash and the floor. Ugh.)
Gorgeous!!! I love everything about this kitchen!!
The stone walls, my god.
The island is beautiful but it looks like none of their mismatched stools fit quite right. Not enough room to put your legs under the table.
HEY that's my hometown!!
Sadly, I don't know the person who owns this dream house. (back to drooling)
