I tried the Trader Joe macarons and was not impressed at all - 2 thumbs down for me!
However, if we're talking about Trader Joe frozen French pastries: their chocolate croissants are TO DIE FOR. Maybe it's because you get them warm straight out of the oven, but they just make us swoon.
Really? I think the macarons are eh. The mini-croissants are better than the chocolate ones, I think, YMMV.
I thought the Vanilla flavor ones were amazing - chewy and just right, the chocolate were strangely not at all - they were hard and the flavor was not there.
The croissants ARE to die for!! They are self managing too - you have to defrost them for 9 hours, which means that if you defrost only two that is all there will be to eat. PS: Defrost only as many as you SHOULD eat - because if you defrost more, YOU WILL eat them.
Tried the macarrons too - didn't like them at all! one of the rare TJ stuff that gets a thumbs down
I was really excited to try them, but then didn't like them at all... They don't do justice to real macarons.
I second the positive review of croissants and pains au chocolat (chocolate croissants), though! These are excellent!
May I add that I am French?
I was not impresssed.
so blend and cheap tasting!
Agree with the posters! 2 thumbs down!
I ate like 3 and threw the rest out. They were no good. I was unpleasently surprised as I expect TJs stuff to be dee-licious!
Okay... I ate 6 before I threw them out. Not impressed at all. Two thumbs down for me too.
