This is such a simple idea! Take a sturdy branch or piece of driftwood and thread it through open wall brackets to create a nature-inspired rail. It's perfect for holding lightweight items like dish towels, pot holders, or small cooking tools.
Martha Stewart recommends hanging items with S hooks and twine. Just one more way to create some extra storage space in your kitchen. Pretty!

Anytime you bring wood inside from outside there will be bugs in it. Even in the winter, the eggs will hatch once they warm up. If you are going to do this, bake the wood in your oven at 250 for 5 or 6 hours to kill anything and keep your house bug free. Learned this the hard way making habitats for my pets.
@sparksj, thank you! I was just about to ask before I saw that you had already answered my question! I have some projects in mind that use fallen branches, and was wondering how to "sanitize" them first.
Do you also know a way to preserve the wood? Some kind of sealant maybe?
