Daniel and Mercedes live in a renovated downtown Los Angeles loft building which showcases their love for industrial accessories mixed with midcentury furniture. The kitchen also feels decidedly retro with its black-and-white checkerboard tile floor (the same tile that used to be in the kitchen when the loft served as a Federal Reserve Bank in 1929!) and vintage Pyrex and turquoise dishes.

Wow, that first image threw me for a while, until I figured out that it was a glass surface with the tea-set underneath. I thought it was a really bad photoshop!
Love seeing the turquoise with the darker woods. I love my turquoise accents in my grey and white kitchen, but I worry about pulling it off in a darker kitchen.
About the only thing that looks MCM is the turquoise accents, the rest of the place looks much too contemporary to be anything remotely MCM in feel.
Otherwise, I agree, the turquoise works great with the existing darker cabinets and counter tops.
One thing though, the white shelves look too short to really be useful for what it's being used for. Some of the items like the vintage turquoise bowls that are hanging off the edge a bit and they just don't seem too terribly substantial looking, though I would hope the shelves are secured to their brackets for stability, especially if the items are intended to be actually used as they look like they'd be easily knocked off.
Otherwise, it's a nice display of vintage items in a contemporary kitchen.
what a happy-looking place! love that it's bold and I imagine I can feel your personality in the design. well done!
Love, love, love the turquoise!! And what a great idea to add where each item was purchased!
Oh my god. Give me everything in her kitchen. My dream.
