I have many fond memories of my childhood trips to Oregon, but one in particular truly stands out: Whenever we visited Portland’s International Rose Test Garden, I always hightailed it straight to the snack shack, which had the best snow cones ever. I dreamt about those snow cones all year long and relished every bite once I got my hands on one.
The West Bend Professional Snowball Machine has made all my childhood dreams come true, as I can now whip up snow cones whenever I want. I just pour ice cubes in the machine, close the lid, and flip a switch. In about 30 seconds, I have light, fluffy, snow-like ice that absorbs syrup like a dream.
The best thing about shaved ice is its versatility. You can use it for snow cones (using either Williams Sonoma’s bottled syrups or your own homemade versions), slushies, or — my personal favorite — cocktails.
