I'm always looking for ways to put the fun in functional when it comes to kitchen decor. I have specific storage places for things like measuring spoons and knives, but I'm thinking I could loosen up a little and bust out one of these DIY LEGO utensil holders!
Although most LEGOs are purchased in sets, you can buy bulk bags of LEGOs online from eBay or other assorted retailers for cheap. This utensil set can be completely cleaned and disinfected if needs be or could be dismantled for travel. Score! Plus, you know — hello, it's made of LEGOs!
This adorable addition came from a fantastic house tour over at Houzz. Make sure to check out the full digs at the link below.

Martha Concrete Lam...

That is quite the bottle opener you've got there.
If I didn't know the date, I woudl think this was an April Fool's post -- especially with that bottle opener!!!
cool
Imagine the possibilities: pen/pencil cups, makeup storage, bathroom supplies, or make a tissue box cover!
Hey, this is pretty cute!
This just made me so happy!!!!
Unless the bottom panel is a flat piece of plastic, I can see the lego panel being a dirt/grease catcher with its raised nibs, but otherwise, it's a great idea and very much unexpected, though I'd have glued the pieces together so it would not simply fall apart.
But at the end of the day, I prefer things a bit more sturdy for such activities as when you stuff your utensils in the crock/caddy, you want it to stay together, not fall apart readily.
Otherwise, very cool. I happen to like melamine utensils, though mine are in various colors, rather than all in the red.
Cool idea! Even better was perusing the blog this was from. Fantastic design everywhere you look.
@ciddyguy, since it's just a rectangular structure, the Legos probably won't fall apart. Especially since they've used the flat pieces at the top to secure the corners. It looks pretty sturdy to me.
Those utensils remind me of my best favorite red Ultratemp serving spoon. My mom got it for me when I graduated from college several years ago, and it's my absolute favorite utensil. I will leave a lot of things behind before I abandon my "red spoon." My husband knows not to touch it. I can't find Ultratemp anywhere, so I can't lose the spoon!
Looks like it's this one: http://www.kleenezeshop.com/products/2035-sky-blue-silicone-whisk.aspx
