When Erik and Paul moved to Los Feliz from New York three years ago, they left behind a small one-bedroom apartment and settled enthusiastically into their West Coast life with a three-story, 2,800-square-foot home, complete with pool and a large, light-filled kitchen.

The kitchen is a mix of classic elements — subway tiles, cream cabinets, and marbled countertops — with more contemporary elements like the sleek stainless steel sink, modern hardware, and dark floors.

The home has a refined, yet relaxed feel to it, a vibe that sits well with the couple's casual entertaining style. As we saw in Apartment Therapy's recent House Tour, "this is a home where casual entertaining — whether pool party, TV viewing, or sit down dinner — is the key to the good life." One of the most common things friends tell the couple is that their home is "welcoming," which, in Erik's opinion, "is the best compliment people can give us as we strive for design mixed with comfort." We agree!
