I immediately fell in love with this West Philadelphia dining room. How lovely are those floor-to-ceiling bay windows? Unless you have a private yard, it might be a little too revealing at nighttime, but I would love to have a lazy breakfast at that table, looking out at all the flowers and foliage. What about you?

Bacsac Bacsquare 04...

I love that dining table. Where is it from??
Gorgeous! But I used to live in West Philly and can't imagine having that much exposed...lol
We have floor to ceiling windows in our 1950's era Eichler. Many of our neighbors have window coverings for their windows, but we only have shades on the ones in the Master Bedroom. The previous owners didn't have anything, even in the bedroom if you can believe that!! It takes a bit of getting used to at night. Our 4-year old daughter was a little freaked out at first, but now we think it's lovely to see the moon from lots of angles as it rises at night.
West Philly is no worse than any other part of any city. I've been in WPHL for 16 years and love the trolleys, trees, gardens, parks, bars/restaurants and walkability (I walk to work even). I've got a 6 bedroom, 3 1/2 bathroom house built in 1888 with two staircases. I bought it in 2006 and was living in a mansion with servants' quarters before that. I must say... I love my giant kitchen, but I also love this!!
I think I want to spend my life there. Such windows!
That's what we have and I am stumped by what window dressing to use. Our neighbours in similarly built houses use either vertical office blinds (a bit meh as far as I am concerned) or nothing with bamboo blinds at night. I need to be far tidier for the latter.
Real nice Till you really make some one mad
