Matt's country home — on 5 acres of land just outside of Austin — is a welcome, modernist retreat with high ceilings, an open floor plan, and interior entertaining spaces that flow naturally out to the covered patio and outdoor fireplace. An avid cook, Matt splurged on his gas range and the kitchen table, but it was worth it. As he tells Apartment Therapy, living for years in a tiny apartment made him "crave a functional kitchen and an open space to entertain." See more photos below:

Whoa, gorgeous. I have never thought of myself as much into modern design, but this has me rethinking that position. I especially love that table.
very nice
Gorgeous kitchen ... except for the glaringly discordant ivory plastic electrical outlet on the side of the island. Can someone talk the owner into changing it out for a grey outlet and brushed stainless or plain pewter wall plate?
