Regina's Full Moon Garden Dinner Party

Dream Dinner Party

Like Laure, our dream dinner party would have to be outdoors. It would be in the garden, not far from where the food began:

The Scene: Taking inspiration from my own wedding dinner, I'd love to dine on fresh, local ingredients in a comfortable, laid-back setting. A garden row under a full spring moon should work just fine.

The Table: A mismatched pairing of a long, old farm table with metal armchairs like these. Set with grandma's old toile, my new whites and linen tablecloths all cobbled together.

The Decor: Fresh flowers (from the garden, of course!) and more twinkle lights than you would even believe.

The People: Twelve of us, all close friends and family.

The Food: Simple, garden-fresh dishes.

Soup:
something cool and tasty like Cucumber and Yellow Pepper Soup with Crab Meat and Chives

Salad:
Meyer Lemon Spring Salad with Baby Greens, Herbs, Almonds, and Goat Cheese (with homemade goat cheese from my cousin's farm)
crusty and warm Grilled Bread with Olive Oil

Main Dishes:
Chicken and Artichoke Fricassée with Morel Mushrooms (you can bet the morels are hunted fresh from the woods)
Zucchini Rice Gratin

Dessert:
Lemon Ice Torte with Strawberry-Rhubarb Sauce
warm chocolate cake
