This kitchen from the Apartment Therapy archives stole my heart so many months ago. I love how it finds perfection in the old and salvaged rather than in the shiny, expensive finishes and chrome we tend to worship in modern kitchen design. Staring at these images (more below!), especially those of the stove, take me to another time and make me crave homemade biscuits and gravy.

Would you love to cook in a kitchen like this? Or do you prefer the modern conveniences of large ovens and marble countertops?

Yes. Yes to everything about this (especially the sink!).
This is really pretty, and I love the look of the vintage stove & wood sideboard, but it seems like it would be really impractical to cook in. There's no work surface near the sink, the stove & oven are tiny, and everything seems rather far away from each other. Though I do see that they have a dishwasher, so there is some blend of salvaged & new. :)
I would absolutely love to cook in this kitchen! I have a real thing for conventional furniture in kitchens (instead of all built-in cabinets and matching counter tops) and I love the dresser-like counter/drawers in this kitchen. I don't mind a little inconvenience, either, for the sake of these gorgeous vintage pieces.
