What does your dream kitchen look like? It might not look exactly like Shannon's customized kitchen, but she certainly has some ideas you could steal!
As Shannon revealed in this recent House Tour on Apartment Therapy, she enlisted the help of Austin architect Nicole Blair of Studio 512 to help make the kitchen uniquely suited for her family of six (including two pets):
Expanding the tiny existing galley kitchen into an adjacent hallway meant opening up the space, creating plenty of room for feeding a family and for entertaining guests. Again, it was about efficiency and detail: gorgeous warm wood shelves line the wall and surround a brick column. A banquette breakfast nook is made sumptuous with great materials and a surprising metal detail. Two more affordable fridges are made to look combined with the addition of an extra long metal grill across them. Customized pull-out shelving in the pantry is an organizer's dream. Modern details like inset-in-the-counter utensil jars delight.

Floral Drink Dispen...

That double fridge idea is amazing, I would have never known had it not been mentioned. Lots of good ideas, way to go Shannon!
It somehow marries the "hygienic" look with retro chic. HIGHLY APPROVE!
I need that tiered fruit holder.
All I can see is grease and dust covering everything - if she cooks everyday.
my parents have a vent that pops up from the back of the range, which would prevent the grease build up. looks like the little steel piece in the back of hers is the same
Nope, my dream kitchen looks *EXACTLY* like this one! I nearly died of envy when I saw it on her house tour.
My dream kitchen would look like this if, as long as I'm dreaming, I'm having a maid to clean after my daily cooking. For now, I'll stick with my very clean, very sparely decorated kitchen.
