As the saying goes, one man's trash is another man's treasure. Alexandra and John say the kitchen is their home's "biggest embarrassment" and next on the list to be renovated. Maybe it's falling apart in ways we can't see in the photos, but the open design, the streamlined cabinets, and the fun splashes of color look pretty good to us!
As the House Tour title suggests, the home is made up of "clusters of color," and that's evident in the kitchen. No all-white kitchen here! Orange and blue dining chairs mix with a green spotted runner, while a red KitchenAid sits next to a bright yellow metal fruit bowl. Somehow it all works together!
We're curious to see the renovated version (which has yet to happen). Will the cabinets be all white and gleaming? Stainless steel? Or a darker shade of wood? We hope the owners let us know when they've completed the renovation!

I'm not seeing a problem either--other than a lack of counter space. I'd add a freestanding island and call it a day!
Agreed, maybe it's just a little too 90's contemporary, and maybe it's not in great shape, but really, they should see MY cabinetry, ha! :) I think adding an island or workspace is right on, and I'll be curious to see what it looks like post-renovation, if pre-renovation they've done so well with it!
