The jar idea is such a good one, and then the recipient can reuse the jar! I'm def doing that next year.
Good cheap idea if you have a long list: ziplock makes these cute holiday quart size freezer bags, 20 for around $2.50. Bag your treats and then tuck into a bakery box, I got 30 at my local restaurant supply for $15. They are usually plain white, get some holiday stamps and glam up the box, tie with ribbon, instant cute plus no risk of damage in shipping.
Great ideas! I love the pringles container.
Another good idea is to use a large dip or condiment bowl for truffles or rum balls, and wrap the whole thing in clear cellophane and tie with red or green ribbon.
Just wanted to comment that if you are sending an assortment of homemade cookies - separate any that have mint! I received a tin of homemake cookies in lieu of Christmas card from friends, but they tasted terrible because the mint had overpowered the non-mint cookies.
yes, good point! also, when packaging be careful not to pack 'hard' and 'soft' cookies together and certain types of candies. for example meringues will go soft if packed with brownies.
I package treats in a brown paper bag with a wax interior...(think for holding coffee grounds) that has a metal turn down top from the Container Store, but if you needed to buy more, there are numerous places online that sell them in bulk. I make probably a dozen treats or so for the holidays, so it works out nicely. You can decorate bags with stickers, drawings, list of ingredients, etc, To ship, I surround the package with crumpled paper. It's great for cookies, granola, dog treats.
