If your nearest and dearest are gathering to toast your birthday with a cocktail party, go ahead and make the evening a little sweeter with boozy cupcakes. With boozy cupcakes you get the cake your birthday celebration deserves, with inspiration from your favorite cocktail. And as for topping off these sweet treats, you can leave that assortment of colored sprinkles right where they are — we have five fun ways to garnish boozy cupcakes just like a cocktail.

1. Gummy Fruit Slices

A simple lime wedge is used as a garnish for so many cocktails, and it's a staple in everything from margaritas to mojitos. Use this as inspiration and decorate boozy cupcakes just as you'd garnish your drink, although with a sweeter twist: Reach for bite-sized lemon, lime, or orange gummy fruit slices.

2. Dried Pineapple Flowers

When boozy cupcakes take a tropical twist, dried pineapple flowers make a really beautiful (and edible!) decoration. Fresh pineapple is thinly sliced, dried in the oven, and shaped into pretty flowers.

Chopped fresh fruit, like berries, peaches, cherries, or bite-sized orange slices is always a good choice for a finishing touch.
