Do you have a berry bowl? Berry bowls have holes in the bottom so you can rinse and serve berries in the same dish. Usually made of ceramic and often handmade, we think they're a pretty way to serve and snack on berries this summer! (And there's no reason you can't use them for small vegetables as well!) Here are five berry bowls we're particularly fond of:
• Baba's Berry Bowl, $65 from Robert Siegel
• Bunny Berry Bowl, $30 from A. Speer Studio
• Berry Bowl Colander in White, $32 from Page Pottery
• Berry Colander in Red, $34 from Ross Lab
• Berry Cup, $21 from Meadow Point

I've never heard of them, but now that I see them, I want them :)
These are nice, but my favorite comes from Hillside clayworks in VT. She is sold out right now, but I love the styles. I have one in this nice blue color but I think she can make it in different colors:

I love Robert Siegel Ceramics! I use my Baba Berry Bowl all the time.
My first project in ceramics class, and I love it. Now I'm making 10 more for Christmas. Mine are like flowers, with a yellow center and colorful petals outside.
is it weird to admit that i have a serious addiction to bowls?! there are just so many fun ones out there :)
It's OK, Sarah O'Brien, we all have our little troubles. I have a thing for pitchers. And teapots.
Earlier today, there were quite a few comments pointing out the silliness of berry bowls. Suddenly, they've all disappeared....
CRAZYLADY i am kinda glad they did disappear. how can someone be bummed over a berry bowl. they are silly but so sweet. i would love to make some and wish i was on M_J_S Christmas list.
These are so cute!
@jackied302 : they are sweet, but the increasing censorship on AT really doesn't bother you?
geez, I didn't even say anything bad about the bowls and my comment was still removed.
@mntngr : I just made a joke about my colander and it was also deleted!
Censorship, bad? What are you talking about? Pffft, who wants to read comments containing critical thinking? This is a blog about buying stuff! Accumulating stuff! Admire & Acquire! Disputing the necessity of single-function items is so... apartment-dweller. Oh wait...
On a more positive note, my vintage aluminium colander (looks like these) makes a beautiful berry bowl, and it's also, you know... a colander.
