We see this style of lamp all the time in kitchens we love. But we've never really set out to actually shop for one. Here, we've rounded up five that you could buy today if you like the look, too:
Before the simple flick of a switch, pulleys were used so the lamps could be lowered, lit, then raised up high again for general lighting. Now, the look remains with these electric lamps as a throwback in industrial-age-style kitchens.

TW Salt Mill by Wil...

I love this style. Here's the one I've been coveting for years: http://www.marston-and-langinger.com/rise-and-fall-light-red.html. I love the colors it comes in!
Can that Davo pendant really be angled like its shown? Is the cord/chain stiff, and thus not mobile.
These light fixtures are an interesting idea, especially for my poor husband who is always dinging his head on our kitchen fixture.
I love pull-down lamps. That first one is a dandy.
These two from Pottery Barn are reasonably priced and nice looking. I purchased the small one for my very-soon-to-be-renovated kitchen where it will hang over the sink.
