Greek yogurt is good for more than breakfast parfaits and smoothies, and I can't remember the last time my fridge was yogurt-less. A spoonful of this essential is also the perfect way to add creaminess (without the actual cream!) to salad dressings.

Here are five of our favorite salad dressings that are made more magical with Greek yogurt.

1. Caesar dressing

If you're not up for the raw eggs and anchovy fillets that give classic Caesar dressing its creamy consistency, Greek yogurt is a great substitute. It also gives the dressing a nice, yet subtle tang.

2. Ranch dressing

The next best thing to making ranch dressing with tangy buttermilk - you guessed it, Greek yogurt!

3. Green goddess dressing

Fun fact — this colorful dressing was created in the 1920's when a chef at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco wanted to honor actor George Arliss who was opening in a play called, "The Green Goddess."

Many versions of this dressing have emerged since then. My favorite is using Greek yogurt as a substitute for the mayonnaise and sour cream used in the classic recipe.

4. Creamy honey mustard dressing

Keep your dressing, light, fresh and super creamy with an extra dose of Greek yogurt. It also makes going back for seconds totally guilt-free.

5. Poppy seed dressing

Combine with a spoonful of mayo, some Champagne vinegar, ground mustard, and of course, poppy seeds, Greek yogurt makes a nice base for a simple poppy seed dressing.

Do you ever use Greek yogurt in salad dressing? What's your favorite version?
