We aren't big drinkers in my household, but it's nice to have a little something around for guests. Which means our liquor cabinet needs aren't much: No glass and mirrored giant in the corner of the living room. That's why I'm taken with these nifty DIY ideas. I'd love to create a small liquor cabinet (that doesn't necessarily look like one) with nothing but elbow grease and little to none of the green stuff.
1: This just-right-for-bottles shelving was made inside an old ironing board niche.
2: An old suitcase hanging on the wall (complete with tags) has been transformed into a small liquor cabinet.
3: A vintage French grocer's cabinet has been converted into a tall, slim (and space-saving) liquor cabinet in this example.
4: This weathered metal cabinet may look like a nifty table for an entrance hall, but it holds its liquor with the best of them!
5: A barrister bookcase makes a perfect little liquor cabinet.
Where do you stash your liquor? Is it right out in the open, or hidden away in a cupboard or bar cabinet?

Martha Concrete Lam...

We have a Korean chest that isperfect for our needs....enclosed space for glassware and nifty drawers and sliding panels to hide the bottles. Plus the top is great for mixing those beverages as well as holding the giant wine opening apparatis we have.
I didn't link it in the last thread, but this is my liquor cabinet:

It's solid pine with the exception of the back panel. Add one wine glass rack, a tray to corral the liquor bottles, and a flexible wine rack system, and it works out very nicely.
Anyone have any resources for finding pieces like #4 or #5?
i have a wooden beverage cart with booze and mixers on the two lower shelves, a mixing area on the top of the cart, and then three wine crates screwed to the wall above holding top-shelf spirits and bar supplies. i have a few small plants, candles and a bartending book on the tops of the shelves. for taller bottles, make sure to mount one of the boxes vertically.
I use an old record player cabinet that my grandfather made.
