Red-and-Pink-Stripe...

Does anyone have that 4 tier cooling rack? I've had my eye on it but I'm afraid it might not be stable enough. Any reviews?
One word of caution is you're using collapsible things like measuring cups and colanders--make sure you put them in the dish rack in their expanded form, otherwise the water pools in the crevices!
I like my collapsible funnel which eliminates the issue of storing an odd shaped kitchen tool.
Ok... there's two collapsible strainers here. Why not included a collapsible salad spinner? I never wanted to buy one of them until I found a collapsible one. Now I love it, and I eat salad more often!!

Seriously, I even bought one for my sister!
Has anyone had a problem with these being difficult to wash or developing odors? I've avoided all products like this because I hate silicone (it always tastes like soap to me after the first time you wash it), and I wasn't sure that they would hold up very well... but a collaspsible salad spinner is almost too good to pass up.
While we don't live in an apartment, we do have a small house and our kitchen is pretty small. I feel like the collapsible funnels and colanders are probably good, but I would also recommend both nesting mixing bowls and stackable plates and glasses like they have at places like Crate and Barrel. Stuff that fits INTO other stuff is a space-saver in cramped or non-traditionally shaped cupboards.
I have the cooling rack and wish I had 2 more! It is super stable and the second and top can be lifted to stack taller items, although I've not made something that tall. It makes Christmas cookie baking a breeze, I have 12 cookie sheets (most inherited from my grandmother) so three would hold all the sheets.
Thanks, SARAHJ!
I also have the collapsible funnel that Foodlovah ues, and it is AWESOME, because normal funnels are so awkward to cram into a drawer and I end up breaking half of them as a result. I found mine for a little cheaper than Amazon's price here (www.organizeit.com/progressive-collapsible-funnel-mini.asp). It might end up being closer cost with shipping factored in, I guess, but since I shop in person at their Michigan store, that is soooo not a problem for me. :D
first, thanks for the link to the dish rack. i found two other things that will be great for me and for gifts in the progressive line. storing my dishrack is a problem, so it's always on my tiny counter.
second, collapsible silicone measuring cups are great for the visually impaired. as my mom went blind i noticed her utensils turning up melted from being left too near the stove. these can withstand a boatload of heat and the embossed numbers are big enough for many legally blind people to read and for anyone to feel - provided they haven't lost sensation in the fingertips.
DON'T get the Joseph Joseph grater. I have it and it stinks-- while they show it fully "popped out" standing by itself when unfolded, it doesn't have any locking mechanism that keeps it open when it is unfolded, so you have to keep it open with your hand or by squeezing the open part. It grates fine, but that is a major annoyance. I love the brand and have a lot of kitchen utensils by them that I love but you're way better off getting a small and a large hole size flat Microplane (which is what I replaced it with)-- they take up a similar amount of space for less hassle when using.
I LOVE the rack. I have one and need a few more myself as well. Highly recommend it.
SarahJ - This is completely off the subject & sounds creepy but I followed you from a post regarding quick puff pastry. I would like to make my own & I saw your recipe for it & just had a few questions about it. I'm not sure how to leave you a private message on here.
Thanks!
I have 2 of them, I really like them. I can be baking several things at a time, and have enough space for cooling. They are very stable, I have put 4-15x18 inch baking sheets
on one, haven't had any accidents, yet.
