Baking, baking, baking — if you are baking a lot this holiday season, I hope you are well-equipped with great baking dishes. Having good bakeware can help you enjoy baking even more. I love baking savory foods and have found that while there are some dishes that you can use for almost anything — there are other dishes that make it even more enjoyable.
I am absolutely in love with the Lucerne Casseroles from Crate and Barrel. No only will they serve the actual purpose of baking amazingly delicious casseroles and pasta dishes — but they can go straight from oven to table and look fabulous while doing so. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Pyrex (I own several of their baking dishes) but I never want to serve the food in them because they're rather homely.
If you're a cookie baker, I highly recommend the DUKTIG 7 Piece Baking Set from IKEA. It's so inexpensive and you can't go wrong with any of the 7 pieces, especially if you're just getting started. Here are some other favorites:
• Lucerne Casseroles, $9.95-$19.95 at Crate and Barrel
• Insulated Cookie Sheet, $16.95 at Crate and Barrel
• La Chamba Colombian Clay Baking Dish, $24.95 at Williams Sonoma
• Williams-Sonoma Goldtouch Nonstick Loaf Pan, $22.00 at Williams Sonoma
• DUKTIG 7 Piece Baking Set, $9.99 at IKEA

TW Salt Mill by Wil...

I splurged on some Chicago Metallic cookie sheets last year. Wow are they amazing. They cook so evenly, don't burn, and clean like a dream.
The Ikea thing listed here is a toy for kids. I would assume it would be difficult for an adult to roll out dough with the tiny rolling pin...
So, I guess you mean if you're REALLY just getting started...
These are my favorite baking wares. Really durable and cleans up well.
Ha, andrealu812!
I have those Lucerne casseroles (bought on sale for about $5-$8) and I love the shape, size, and look of them. However, I find it impossible to get the inside edge where the top cover rests completely spotless because it's not glazed like the rest of the casserole or top.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the Gold Touch bakeware from Williams Sonoma. I have 2 of each of almost everything they offer in that. Nothing sticks in them, and everything I've baked in them has turned out beautifully. Not shown above, the USA bakeware, is another favorite of mine (look for it at Sur la Table or Bed, Bath & Beyond). I bought a couple of jelly roll pans to try it out and I was impressed with that line as well. As I am sure many of you can relate, there is nothing much more disheartening than making a beautiful pound cake, and then chunks of it sticking inside the pan... Well, I am happy to report that I no longer have that problem!
