Getting children involved in preparing family meals piques their interest in what's on the table and sets up habits that contribute to lifelong heathy eating. Here are a few accessories we love for children in the kitchen:
- The Learning Tower by Little Partners, $199
- Child's Apron Tutorial by Modern Munchkins
- Motherchildbag market tote by Reisenthel, $25
- Kitchen Kids tools by Josefine Bentzen and Charlotte Skak

TW Salt Mill by Wil...

Maybe I'm a "bad" mom, but I just let our son stand on a chair. When he was little, I was always right beside him. He had smaller versions of whisks etc. but he always wanted the real thing. Save your money for a good broom to clean up the messes!
We have the learning tower and I LOVE it. I have two girls 16 mo apart. I always feel they are safe in there, and now that they are older they both can fit in it and help.
The learning tower is the bomb! Probably one of the best purchases of all the kiddo gear I made.
Love this post! I just started a new site yesterday for kids food (www.halfpintgourmet.com) and we did a review of a product similar to the Leaning Tower. I've been using a chair for my 20 month old to stand on but it feels really unsafe (@ Apron Strings - I suspect some kids are sturdier v clumsier than others...my daughter takes after mommy and seems to be a little unsteady) so am planning to order the tower.
Love the Learning Tower. For some reason it makes any activity fun. My kids (4, 2) love that thing. We made it work in even a small kitchen.
Plus, it retains value really well on Craigs List.
The Learning Tower is also multi-purpose. It has an add-on chalkboard and puppet theater. I think other things as well.
But where can you buy the kid's kitchen tools? I can't find them anywhere.
