262 Babies Were Named "Kale" in 2013. Be Afraid.

Food News

It's one thing to enjoy a good kale salad, and another thing to name your first born after your favorite green. Bon Appétit reported earlier this week that 262 babies (257 boys + 5 girls) were named "Kale" in 2013. What's not so shocking is that most of these nutritional-loving babies reside in California.

Surprisingly, the baby name "Kale" has dropped down in popularity in 2013. In 2012 336 babies (325 boys + 11 girls) were named after the leafy green. Other popular food-related baby names for 2013 include "Apple," "Olive," and "Tamari."
