Bacon tastes good, but not good enough that I'd kill an animal for it. I like The Kitchn, but it's disappointing to see you promoting foods that hurt animals, people, and the environment. Consider this a downvote.

Wikivn, why no disappointment over the recent lamb shank and meatloaf recipes? This website isn't exclusively vegetarian or vegan, though they do have lots of great vegan and vegetarian postings.
On another note, as much as I love bacon, I'm a little bacon-ed out at the moment, maybe it was the post (from another blog) that had chocolate bacon donuts. Which feels wrong (culinarily) on a level that I can't quite define...

SarahRae, not knocking them. I'm sure they're plenty delicious even though a very very tiny part of me feels that it's almost a crime against a good donut ;)
Love it all! I probably won't get around to making them all, but bacon makes me happy! Hoppin' John and Spaghetti Carbonara are 2 more much loved recipes that just aren't the same without it!

I use bacon/pancetta to dress up a lot of otherwise-vegetarian meals. But my current favorite use is for dessert - bacon brittle!
I just got 4lbs of Benton's Bacon from TN. Might have to try some of these!
