12 Storage Bowls With Clear Lids from Crate & Barrel
• $19.95 for a set of 12
• Crate & Barrel
I just bought this set of bowls to fill out my food storage setup, and they've been great. Each holds about two cups, which is just right for most leftovers, as well as small batches of salsa, sauces, and prepped ingredients. The lids are BPA-free and everything is dishwasher-safe.

I use one of these as my sugar bowl. Love it!
You can also buy a small quantity for $1.95 each. I just bought some!
Love these! I use them to freeze individual portions of chili to (carefully) take to work for lunch!
Love these! They are perfect size and the lids make them very usable and convenient. However, if you are a little heavy handed/clumsy like myself they can be a little delicate and I find they break fairly easily. The good news is that crate and barrel always seems to have them in stock and replacements can be purchased for a reasonable 1.95 each
I'll be a little less gracious about this than Mo: They're too thin. We bought 4 of these and all of them were broken within 2 months.
Bought these a year ago and only 4 have survived. Very thin and delicate :(
I do love them, but agree with other posters--mine didn't just break, they SPLINTERED, and I only dropped them about 6 inches (from bottom shelf of fridge). I wish they didn't break so easily, but still prefer them over plastic and/or non-see through containers.
Just logged on to report the same news as others have... these containers splinter when they break. Once we broke one, we had to get rid of ours (we have a crawler at home and couldn't risk missing some shards, esp since they break so easily).
Does anyone know how these fare? http://www.crateandbarrel.com/kitchen-and-food/food-containers-storage/small-glass-refrigerator-dish/s506346
I have these too and agree they are too thin. We bought the set of 12 as an alternative to plastic containers for packing/heating lunches, but are down to about 4, and are planning to buy some higher quality ones soon to replace them. It's worth paying more up front not to keep having to replace them.
We have the cheapest version produced by Pyrex (BPA free blue lids, Made in America) and they are very, very sturdy. Target sells an inexpensive set with rectangular 1 cup containers and something like a loaf pan. They stack really well in the fridge and freezer and are the perfect size for lunch.
ETA: They also have a more expensive line with vented microwave lids but I want volume and cheap.
This is what we love: http://www.target.com/p/Pyrex-6-45-pc-46-Storage-Value-Pack/-/A-10507546#reviews-and-ratings
these bowls are awful quality. i bought 5 of them at the beginning of the summer as our work lunch bowls. as of yesterday one is left. they were never dropped, but we were rough on them--regular transport to work and often throwing them in the dishwasher. don't waste your money.
I've recently slowing been switching to Pyrex or Anchor Hocking glass containers with plastic lids. My criteria is they need to be oven/freezer/microwave/dishwasher safe, so they are the only containers I'll need. They're sturdy, and I love them :)
I switched from these to 1 or 2 cup wide mouth Ball jars with plastic lids (purchased separately). They've been great! Much more sturdy, and fit easily into my bag without leaking for bringing lunch to work. I still have a few left of the Crate and Barrel bowls that I use for storing a half a lemon or an onion in the fridge, but like everyone else, I found that they break very easily.
