It doesn't matter how old we get, we'll still be left wanting a little taste of something sweet at the end of a meal. Although there's still some joy in occasional Snack Pack, we truly love homemade treats instead. Our 10 favorites are compact in nature and travel exceptionally well!
For us, lunch sweets fall into two different categories... cookies and everything else. Cookies travel great, can be made ahead, dough frozen and baked fresh each week and we love that, but man can not live by cookie alone. Our other 5 recipes are all snacks that can be easily portioned out in small servings making it easy to take them to work with you all week long! Don't forget to tell us which is your favorite!

I love something sweet after lunch and always try and bring an apple or another piece of seasonal fruit with me to satisfy the craving.
Candied, spiced almonds are another good one. I like to use the recipe from Mary at Owlhaven.

Meringue cookie bites: We call them "divinity" in my family, does anyone else?
God they're good.
The bacon reminds me of a party food I make from time-to-time - bacon wrapped dates. People seem to flip over them.
I usually parboil the bacon briefly and bake them on a rack in a cookie sheet at about 375 - 400 F.
@clampers: Yup. Divinity. I, too, am familiar!
It's WAY too sweet for me, but my brother always really liked it. I think my mom will still make it once in great while--usually around Xmas.
We always made divinity with a pecan in the middle...yummy! Is this a southern thing?
What?
No Cuties?!!!!You can't eat just one, its impossible. I love them, so tasty.
Dates are also a fantastic sweet treat. And they are super sweet. Full of fiber, too!
Ever since I bought a bag of lychees in Maui last summer I have been craving them. I just can't get any that aren't in the "past ripe, turning to goo" stage. But, in two weeks I will be eating them by the handfuls.
