Are you reminded of your grandmother's kitchen when you see mint green cabinets? The color mint is definitely a little retro-feeling, but like all things vintage, at some point it's bound to make a comeback. These kitchens are trying to make mint modern and fresh, either as a full-on color scheme or a subtle, muted accent. What do you think of the look? Would you go for mint in your kitchen?

My dream kitchen color! Swoon.
Pretty!!
Before I really comment, let me say that I love that backsplash in #8 - that's just right.
I am not opposed to mint - I think it's lovely in other people's homes. Especially Martha Stewart's, which is the second thing I think when I see this shade (after the 50s, of course). But when I was trying to find a light, bright green to paint in the dining room, I had the hardest time trying to find something that read as a true green and not mint (or English pea green - yuck). Even things that looked right in the can read too blue on the wall. Finally found one that worked, but oh, the 10x10" squares I painted trying to find the right color!
Mint green is incredibly charming! I love how soft it looks. Green is full of life and energy, and mint green is a subtle way of bringing that life and energy to a room without being too over bearing.
I just picked up a set of mint green dishes from Ikea, and they have inspired a kitchen make over in my house. We will be starting that in the next month if anyone is interested in following it :)
Cheers!
These are so inspiring. My kitchen is on the hodge-podgey side, but just about a month ago I can see a pattern in the colors I choose. I bought these great mint colored canisters and I officially declared my color scheme mint, robins egg blue, and orange. We are moving next week and this gives me all kinds of ideas for the new kitchen!
Yay, proud member of the minty kitchen club here. :) First I thought about painting the cabinets like that but now they are a creamy white and the walls are mint green. It looks so fresh and has that cheerful 50ies feeling. Love it!
I love it, though a lot of these are a bit much for me. The traditional, cottage-y look is cute, but I am not sure I could live with it. The modern-looking one in row 2 #2, though... serious kitchen boner.
I recently painted my kitchen cabinets mint green! Only the top ones, but it made my tiny apartment kitchen feel very open and airy, and is a great contrast to all the white everywhere. :)
#4, originally published in Blueprint Magazine, was the inspiration for my own kitchen! I love how much bigger my small kitchen feels, and I get a lot of compliments on my color choice.
