The following months will be full of dinners with family and friends, and while the food may be the focus, don't forget about setting the table! Salt and pepper—everyone's favorite seasoning pair—deserves a spot on the table, which is why we like these classic understated salt and pepper sets. They all have a neutral color palette, so they'll go with most table decor, but each set retains an interesting detail—a geometric shape, for example, or marbled detailing. Classic and functional, but never boring.

As beautiful as these all are, it makes me crazy to have to count the holes to figure out which is which. Need the color coding! (But the Oxen pair has a very smart top-loader...would I be willing to count for convenience? Probably not at that price...but on sale!)
Another awesome pair of salt and pepper shakers that I have found are from this new little company called STAK Ceramics in Pittsburgh, PA. http://www.stakceramics.com/#!products/c12wr
I love the the clean lines and simple colors with cork accents. These shakers can go beautifully with any set of dinnerware!
