- What makes your small kitchen so cool?
- Extra-efficient...including 12 linear feet of 'soffit' cabinets. We opened up our kitchen to our dining room and living room in a 1924 bungalow, without destroying the original built ins.
- Describe a challenge you've overcome or a smart resource you've found for your kitchen.
- In order to make the kitchen work, we had to remove the old radiator...which eventually led to removing an old oil burning boiler, 140 gallon tank, and 5 other radiators. Good news, the month loan payment for the new furnace plus monthly gas bill is less than half the cost of our old fuel oil bills.
- What's your favorite meal to cook here?
- My wife makes THE BEST Baklava from her Greek grandfather's family recipe...in an old beat-up, hand-me-down, family Baklava pan from her father (once 'customized' to fit his first apartment's mini-oven).

Mmmmmm Baklava
Beautiful kitchen.
By NYC standards that would be an EXTRA LARGE kitchen! It's beautiful none the less.
This is an amazing kitchen; I know because I have been in it!
It's stunning and efficient, and magical things happen there!
What color are your walls? (Specifically)
The walls are Sherwin Williams Ruskin Room Green (SW 0042).
It looks equally great against the wood and black soapstone in our kitchen as it does against white subway tile and fixtures in our bathroom.
From the current pictures in the small cool contest, this is clearly the winner for me. Space is used efficiently by creating as much storage as possible, at least two people could work without sacrificing traffic flow, color and contrast create a striking impact, kitchen tasks are simply and correctly illuminated, and the appliances are fashioned for people who actually cook. And, of course, who can resist baklava? ; ) All in all, if I knew you and you invited me over, I'd be the last guest you'd have to politely ask to leave! Good luck!
I really like this kitchen. I've been looking for an alternative to the ridiculously popular all white kitchens. This might be it!
Whoa! A whole lot of kitchen in a small space..looks good!
<3 it! Honestly it's not very small but one awesome kitchen - warm inviting textures and colors, it's super streamlined, the lighting is done so well.
Lighting can really mess up a room but done right and you have a kitchen you want to jump into from your desk through the computer screen!
have to agree. 100+ square is pretty big...
Our kitchen is within a five or so square feet of this 'small' cool kitchen... and I (and my friends) always considered it quite large.
size aside. this is a beautiful space that appears really well laid out with a nice sleek style and great lighting plan.
