- What makes your small kitchen so cool?
- It is tiny and minimal but it's the only room in our apartment where I can say I love every item we've put in it.
- Describe a challenge you've overcome or a smart resource you've found for your kitchen.
- When we moved in there was 6 square feet of counter space which made it nearly impossible to cook. We added more counter space by installing a large island and it has become the most used surface in our apartment.
- What's your favorite meal to cook here?
- Pork! In all its amazing, various forms.

Anyone know where that island came from? I'm looking for something similar for my kitchen.
@rberry it's Ikea Värde: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/14631607/
Thanks!
If this is considered small, I don't even want to know what people think about my kitchen, which is literally 3 metres wide, except for the stove and oven, we don't have a microwave and the surface on one side of the sink is taken by the dishwasher.
However, regardless of that, I do like the kitchen. I'm not a big fan of the white and wood combo, but I love the look of the island and the little book nook, and I wish I had space for such a hanging fruit basket. I see those all the time in American kitchens, but here in the Netherlands I have never seen anything like it. Perhaps in my next kitchen.
Good luck with your entry!
i love your kitchen ren!
Can anyone provide a link for that large shelf? Also, what sort of hook is the collander hanging from? Great kitchen!
I love the counter space!! Love the kitchen, cosy and functional!!
wow, is this really only 84 sq feet..? it looks big!
I have that same countertop unit from Ikea!! It's so great and it, like quadrupled my counterspace.
I had to buy the tiniest trash can in the world to make the thing fit in my kitchen but I do not care!

@Kim van D -- A square room of 84 square feet would be just over 9'x9' (actually 9.1' and change). 3 m is 9.8' and change. Sounds like your place is bigger.
I'm not sure if it's the photography or if it just feels bigger because it's long and narrow. Either way, it looks really good for a rental. I also have a long, skinny kitchen and a long, skinny Ikea table! http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60045393/
Thanks for all the nice comments! I definitely feel lucky to have this kitchen, especially in a rental, despite all its quirks (tiny fridge, self-extinguishing pilot lights, etc). It's still a work in progress so all your suggestions are great too. Thank you!
Love your kitchen! so cute :)
This reminds me of several rentals that my sisters had in San Francisco! Good times. In the interest of full disclosure, young Rossini, you had me at pork. Not for nothing do I sign up for a random internet whatzit to vote for a whozit. Pork I tell you! Give me pork chops or give me death. Unless what you are serving is pork ribs, any incarnation, and I will take that as well. Over death.
love this! where is the wooden shelf(next to the fridge) from?
Is that a Peter Rabbit cookie jar? Amazing!
