We always love a good kitchen before-and-after! This one is especially interesting to us, since Eric and Christine tore out granite countertops to put in what looks like Corian or manmade stone counters. Is this another sign of the end of granite's domination? Regardless, we just love the sleek, light look of this big family kitchen.
This was quite a big kitchen renovation, as you can see from the photos. They designed it all and had it done in under 3 months, with the help of a custom cabinet maker. They used IKEA cabinet pulls in the kitchen, and the color on the walls is from Behr: Eggshell Crisp Celery.
We can only dream about a kitchen as large as this one, but overall we are so inspired by the light and the combination of warm cabinets and white countertops. We really love this one!

Floral Drink Dispen...

It's not easy to tell, but it looks the counters/cabinets that were removed were taller than the standard height. But I am prejudiced against granite anyway---maybe I am the only one who drops stuff on my counters.
Their choices are fresh and sleek, and I like it.
very stunning remodel!
we just did new white corian counters too, they replaced laminates but our old rental had granite and comparing them i like the corian better hands down.
Beautiful. I love the modern, clean lines and the bright, airy appeal. It's modern but not cold, well done.
I thought the same about the previous counters, I am only 5'2 and those look high for me. Love the new height, the counter material, fixtures, and the cabinet doors that will hide the busy dishes. Very clean look. But I am the type of person that would replace double ovens, that is my kitchen dream, double ovens.
Yeah, it looks great and I can't stand granite countertops (and I want to poke my eye when I hear someone on one of those home shows say, "we need granite countertops and stainless steel appliances). But I can't imagine actually replacing granite if its in good shape I think I would just live with it unless it was definitely being reused somewhere. But it is a really, really nice kitchen.
I'm glad they got rid of that granite. It was weighing down the whole room. Now it looks light and fun to cook in.
I only like solid color granite usually. Depends on the kitchen, I guess. But I would also like to see that trend of "gotta be granite" go away, just because I think there are so many beautiful options, it sucks to be pushed into granite just because you're told no one will buy your house without.
I live in Canada where laminate counters are still rampant. We spent $5K on quartz (I freaking loooove it), where we could have spent about $500 on the same amount of laminate.
The only non-offensive thing in the before pictures is the table.
That sunburst like arc over the stove is blugh.
Just wondering if you have any info on the key/organizer thing on the column in the first picture. I really like it!
I knew I saw that key organizer somewhere Jessie, its from umbra, check it out on their site! It's under hardware-shelving.
