What Are Some Great Starter Cookbooks?

Good Questions

Q: I've been wondering recently if there are any cookbooks that you or the readers could recommend as a good "starter" cookbook.

I recently purchased Flour by Joanne Chang and love the helpful techniques she includes in the book and was wondering if you knew of any other cookbooks that would be useful for both great recipes and technical teaching?

Editor: Joshua, this is a great question! We love the How To Cook Everything books from Mark Bittman; we often turn to them when we have a cooking question.

Readers, what are your favorite cookbooks that teach as well as cook?
