How do you stop from snacking on the ingredients as you cook? I have been doing a lot more cooking lately — especially vegetarian. It's hard to cook when I'm hungry and all the ingredients are edible. I would almost rather give in to it and munch away on fresh veggies at lunch while I am preparing a meal intended for dinner.
Any suggestions? Is this a common problem?

One thought is to have just one very purposeful snack set out for dinnertime prep. A piece of cheese with some walnuts, or some celery with hummus. Not random snacks but an amuse-bouche for the cook to nibble on as you enjoy preparing your meal.
